Engineering Design & Calculation
- Feasibility Study:
Collecting and analyzing process data, including operating pressures, temperatures, fluid types, and vessel environment.
- Preliminary Design:
Defining design pressure, max/min temperatures, and hazard classifications per ASME Section VIII Div 1 or Div 2, API 650 (for tanks), PED Module H, integrated with local regulations like SNI for compliance.
- Detailed Engineering Design:
- Structural and thermal calculations, including hoop and longitudinal stress on shells and heads, thermal stress allowances, and fatigue analysis based on load spectrum and operation cycles.
- Material specification selection with quality certification (MTC), suitable for chemical and mechanical properties of the fluid and operational conditions.
- Simulation and design verification (thermal cycling, vibration, stress concentration) to meet all safety criteria.
- Preparation of detailed shop and fabrication drawings including precise dimensions, welding joint details, bending data, flange and nozzle specifications.
- Owner Approval:
Presentation and review of detailed design with technical analysis, risk assessment, and supporting simulations to the project owner.
Procurement
- Vendor selection based on quality, material certification, lead time, and cost.
- Ordering critical components such as relief valves and rupture discs compliant with API 526 and API 520.
- Receiving and inspecting materials at workshops or project sites.
Fabrication and Construction
- Fabrication:
- Cutting and shaping steel plates (cutting, rolling).
- Welding of all main parts following strict QA/QC procedures. Multi-pass welding is performed according to WPS/PQR, by ASME Section IX certified welders with preheat and interpass temperature control.
- Field Assembly/Erection:
- Placement, joining, and installation of components, accessories, and instrumentation, including safety valves, pressure sensors, manways, and automation control systems.
- Implementation of safety procedures and work methods under Quality Control supervision during erection.
- Testing & Quality Control:
- Visual and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection on welds.
- Hydrostatic testing (leak and strength test using high-pressure water).
- Dimensional verification, thickness checks, and corrosion protection system inspections (coating, cathodic protection).
- Compilation of inspection reports and quality control records (QCR).
Commissioning & Documentation
- Commissioning: Operational testing of all systems (pressure testing, emission testing & optimization, instrumentation & safety systems).
- Documentation: Preparation of as-built drawings, Manufacturing Data Reports (MDR), operation and maintenance manuals, vessel test certificates.
- User Training: Operation, maintenance, and emergency response training based on SOP and OSHA standards.
Handover & Final Acceptance
Official handover of pressure vessel to project owner with complete legal documentation, warranty, and after-sales services.
Competitive Advantages
- Certified Materials All major materials used including plates, supporting structures, and accessories like valves are sourced from verified vendors and always accompanied by official material test certificates. This ensures full traceability and compliance with prevailing standards such as API, ASME, and SNI, including API 650 and ASME Section VIII requirements.
- Fabrication Technology and Facilities Our workshop is equipped with cutting, forming, and welding equipment, supported by digital design and project management systems. A rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocol is implemented to guarantee every vessel produced meets safety and operational standards. Advanced testing methods such as nondestructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic testing, and modern inspection tools — including drone documentation for hard-to-reach areas — further ensure product integrity and enhance safety.
- Compliance with Safety Standards (API, ASME, SNI)
API (American Petroleum Institute): API 650 governs the design, fabrication, installation, and inspection of welded steel storage tanks for petroleum and other liquids. This globally recognized standard covers material requirements, design methods, corrosion protection, and testing. For maintenance and repair, API 653 provides guidance.
ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers): ASME Section VIII prescribes codes for the design and manufacturing of pressure vessels and tanks under pressure, ensuring operational safety under normal and extreme conditions.
SNI (Indonesian National Standard): SNI 03-1746-1989 regulates the planning of above-ground oil storage tanks, while SNI 13-3501-2002 manages requirements related to fuel terminal buildings including fire safety, environmental, and construction aspects. These national standards complement API and ASME as the regulatory and technical foundation for industrial tank fabrication in Indonesia.
